Leadership grounded in trust, service, and common sense
I’m Dan Nutt a local businessman, dedicated public servant, and two-term Councilman for Lorain’s 4th Ward and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for the Ohio House of Representatives, District 53.
At the end of this year, I’ll complete four years of service to my community, having served two terms as 4th Ward Councilman. During that time, I’ve had the honor of chairing both the Finance Committee and the Building & Lands Committee, where I’ve worked to ensure fiscal responsibility, transparent decision-making, and smart growth for the City of Lorain.
As a local entrepreneur and business owner, I’ve invested my own time and resources into strengthening our local economy not just talking about change but actively building it.
As a Rotary Club president, I led community projects at home and abroad including a humanitarian effort in Honduras to improve a local school. My leadership and dedication to service were recognized with the Paul Harris Heart Award and being named a Paul Harris Fellow, honors I was proud to receive. These experiences reflect my deep commitment to service, accountability, and results-driven leadership.

I’ve spent my career working to make a difference creating jobs, improving neighborhoods, and giving back. Now, I’m ready to bring that same work ethic and results-driven approach to Columbus to fight for the people of the 53rd District.
With hard work, integrity, and collaboration, we can build stronger communities and a better Ohio for everyone.

The Work Ahead
Making an Impact
Families across the 53rd District deserve leadership that listens, serves, and delivers results. As a husband, father, small business owner, and two-term Lorain City Councilman, Dan Nutt has worked to strengthen the communities he calls home. Now he’s ready to bring that same dedication to Columbus to fight for safer neighborhoods, responsible tax policy, and fair representation for the people of the 53rd District. Guided by hard work and common sense, Dan’s mission is simple: put our communities first.
Drive funding and investment into neighborhoods so families can grow, succeed, and build great places to live and work throughout the 53rd District.
Property Tax Reform & Smart Investment
Pursue property tax reform that helps homeowners, protects schools, and puts tax dollars back to work in our local communities.
End partisan gerrymandering and reform campaign finance so voters not politicians choose their representatives, and power stays where it belongs: with the people of the 53rd District.
Community Safety & Support for First Responders
Enhance community safety and ensure our first responders have the resources, training, and support they need to protect our neighborhoods.
